Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections Announced, Compiles Storm 1 - 4
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections (or Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections if you want to run out of breath) has been announced at Sony's February State of Play, although it's not a new Ultimate Ninja Storm game and instead compiles content from the whole series, along with some new characters and modes.
Towards the end of last year, Bandai Namco trademarked Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, leading everyone to believe that a brand-new Game in the series was coming at some point. Today, Bandai Namco finally revealed Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, although it's more of a compilation than a new Game.
This was confirmed in the middle of the February State of Play with a new trailer showing scenes from all of the Ultimate Ninja Storm Games so far, including the original Game, Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, Ninja Storm 3, and Ninja Storm 4. It wasn't made clear if Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations was going to be included in the lineup, but it seems unlikely seeing as how it has previously been missed out from other compilations.
Although it might just seem like a compilation of the past Ninja Storm Games, Connections does feature some new contnet. The trailer promised that new characters are going to be added and revealed that Ashura ÅŒtsutsuki and Indra ÅŒtsutsuki will be made playable, which is a nice touch. We got to see the two briefly battling, although their movesets largely remain a mystery.
A PlayStation Blog post released alongside the Game announcement also confirmed that Ashura and Indra are the "first additional ninjas" and that more will be revealed in the future, which will hopefully mean some more characters from Boruto. The blog post mentions that a "new original Game story will also be available", although there aren't any details on that just yet. The PlayStation Blog post also confirmed that Connections on PS5 will support 60fps, a first for the series on PlayStation consoles.
